What We Believe
The Church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, a living organism consisting of all who are true believers in Christ. The local church is composed of believers who regularly come together in Christ's name for teaching, worship, fellowship, and prayer. The local church is the outlet through which spiritual gifts are exercised and utilized. The church is responsible to obey Christ's Great Commission to make disciples of all nations, and is to be the bearer of truth. (Act 2:42-47; Matthew 28:19; I Corinthians 12:12)
Ordinances
We believe there are two Christian ordinances, water baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper. Baptism signifies that the believer has died with Christ, has been buried with Him, and has risen to walk in newness of life with Him. The Lord's Supper is a memorial feast at which believers worship the Lord, remember and proclaim His death until he returns. (Matthew 28:18-19; Acts 8:36-38; Romans 6:3)
